Nice to meet you

Approximately 5 minutes ago, I decided to create a blog. I suddenly got very excited about the idea and I'm already giddy about the lay out. I can't promise you that I will keep posting on here, but I'm going to try. I think it would be fun to keep it up.

Okay, how rude am I? Flat out forgetting to introduce myself. Here we go: My name is Willemijn (No surprise there), I'm 17 years old and I live in a tiny country called The Netherlands. That doesn't ring a bell? I know you're out there. What about Amsterdam, does that help? Probably. If you're still confused about my whereabouts, I suggest you Google it, because this is where I give up. I am actually moving onto my College campus in two days. Needless to say, this is a very exciting time for me and my family. I think my experiences of the next few months will be enough to fill this blog.

I am looking forward to living on my own. I will be living about 50 minutes by train from my parents and my brother moved into his own room in the same city about a month ago and yet it still feels like I'm going to be removed far from all I've known for so long. Which is scary and liberating at the same time.

I attended the introduction week in my new town this past week, so I've already gotten the chance to get to know my new surroundings. I met new people, learned about student life (read: beer, bars, beer, cheap food, oh and did I say beer?) and learned all about the student unions. I won't be joining one of those this year, but I might do so next year. The hazing period, I think that's what it's called, scares the crap out of me, but according to the students I met this week, it's worth it. Well, maybe not worth it. More like do-able.

I'll stop now, but I will be back later.
